About us

Hepatica Foundation is a Swedish, SIDA-funded foundation within the party-affiliated democratic aid system, connected to the Sweden Democrats in the Swedish Riksdag. We work to strengthen democratic organizations, values, and structures in a world facing constant challenges and change. Our mission is to promote democracy, human rights, and societal development, contributing to positive democratic progress worldwide.

Our work

Hepatica Foundation supports and empowers democratic movements and organizations across the globe through education, advisory services, and capacity-building initiatives. We collaborate with local, regional, and international actors to provide resources, training programs, and political support, always focusing on strengthening their independence and ability to influence their own societies. By offering strategic assistance, we contribute to sustainable, long-term democratic processes.

Strengthening democracy

Our activities include educational programs, advisory services, and capacity-building efforts to enhance democratic representation and participation. We place particular emphasis on increasing the involvement of women and youth in political organizations, as well as improving the ability of parties and civil society to develop and implement democratic policies. By working with local actors, we help build strong democratic institutions and promote good governance.

Humanitarian aid

In times of crisis, Hepatica Foundation stands in solidarity with vulnerable communities, particularly in Ukraine and Eastern Europe. We provide humanitarian aid to refugees and affected populations through initiatives in education, healthcare, and environmental conservation. By combining democratic assistance with humanitarian efforts, we help communities rebuild and strengthen their democratic structures even in difficult circumstances.

Through our efforts, we strive for a world where more people can actively participate in democratic processes and where freedom, stability, and development are promoted on a global scale.
